Take inspiration from the Feel Good Gardens at the 2017 RHS Chelsea Flower Show

The 2017 RHS Chelsea Flower show is here! This year the Feel Good Gardens, sponsored by BBC Radio 2, are designed to encourage use of the five senses, focusing on the themes of taste, scent, colour, texture and listening. So, inspired by Chelsea, here are my favourite plants for each of the five senses, all of which can be planted in pots to bring new sensory dimensions to your urban garden.

Brighten up January with colourful houseplants

Apparently last Monday, 16th January, was the most depressing day of the year, commonly known as Blue Monday. So I reckon that means it's only up and onwards for the rest of the year (leaving current political events out of the equation)! So if you need a little cheering up and don't fancy venturing out into the cold, get focused on your indoor spaces and pot up some of these colourful houseplants to brighten up your home and lift your mood.

Focus on Colour: Blue

Blue, the colour of the sky and the sea, is one of the rarer colours in the garden. In this article I round up some of my favourite blue flowered plants which can make a cool and calming addition to your urban garden. And as a bonus, all of these plants are loved by bees and butterflies!
