First flowers of the year

Published 27th February 2017 by Michelle

The last couple of weeks I’ve started to spot the first flowers of the year popping up both in my urban garden, and while out and about, a clear and sure sign that Spring is coming. I get so excited over these early beauties. I really treasure them as I look forward to more light, better weather, and the chance to get out in my urban garden more often.

If you would like early Spring flowers in your urban garden next year, put a note in your diary to plant some bulbs at any point from mid September to mid November, and take a look at our blog post on how to plant bulbs for Spring flowers.

Here are five stunning flowers I’ve spotted in the last couple of weeks – roll on Spring!

1\ Crocus

2\ Magnolia stellata

3\ Snowdrops

4\ Iris reticulata

5\ Daffodils
